Brrrrr!! I have to say, I am pretty sure that we’d all have to agree that Virginia has been getting some unusually COLD weather lately! I personally prefer the cooler weather, however, it is hard to do photo shoots in – for me and for those who I am photographing, but especially for my subjects since they can’t move around as much. Nevertheless, those that have braved the cold with me have done a phenomenal job. Including Lydia and David, a couple that I recently photographed in Manassas Battlefield Park. These two are special friends of mine because I have grown up with Lydia’s family for the last several years and am very close with her sisters. Lydia had brought up the idea of going there and I am so glad she did! It is a beautiful location with lots of different options for backgrounds. Definitely something I want to explore more in the future. Originally, I was hoping that we would have tall dry grass to take photos in, but then lo and behold, it snowed the night before! So in turn, we had a beautiful blanket of snow all around us to add to the scenery. Honestly, I quickly began to enjoy having the it there. At first, I was a little nervous about doing a full ‘snow shoot,’ but I love the way the photos turned out, and it made the location even more picturesque.
Yes, it was cold (40’s which is warm for today), but it was a lot of fun to be able to photograph Lydia and David and spend time two of her sisters who came along with us. Laughing with friends makes it a little easier to withstand the cold. 🙂 Lydia and David, you two are a beautiful couple! Thanks lots for giving me the privilege of photographing the both of you and God Bless!
Enjoy the photos and stay warm, everybody!
